Downpressor: Nine [RR003]

Things are busy at Ritmic HQ! Only a few months on the map of and already firing the third release introducing yet another new talent by the name of Downpressor. He has surprised many with some dark as fuck breaks tracks and clever DJ skills. There's already a few labels hunting him for remixes and take it for granted that you'll hear more from him very soon!

Downpressor: Nine (Original Mix) Downpressors debut release has already caused quite a stir with CDRs floating around and DJ-chart appearances throughout the world. His track is a dark peaktime breaks cut perfect for lifting the roof off a club. Downpressor rolls out a tight drum groove, adds a round bass sound which is later joined by rave stabs and choirs. After the atmospheric breakdown it builds and builds causing mayhem on the floor! This has been road tested in Switzerland, Germany and has enjoyed early support from Glen "Future Funk Squad", as well as Loes Lee who loved the track muchly.

Downpressor: Nine (Elite Force Remix) On the flip we have sHack from Elite Force providing a deep percussive 4 to the floor remix. It starts off breaky before turning into a stomping groove joined by various percussive elements, clever placed parts from the original and a speaker devastating sub bass. And just when you think it's over it is back again much to the joy of your floor. A fine remix that rounds off this 12 with overwhelming crowd reactions on both sides of the Atlantic…

The third release from Swiss label Ritmic, which is aiming to specialise in underground dance music, namely breaks, tech house and electro, comes from Downpressor, a name you're likely to see a bit more of in the future. The original mix of Nine has a distinct underlying old skool feel to it, with a throbbing bassline, and dark synth riff riding nicely over a rolling break, making good use of the good old Apache break. The flip sees Elite Force in 4/4 mode, turning in a stomping percussive mix for the housier floors.
